  • Practice exercises to improve memory.  Many brain exercises, word games and the like, can help prevent memory loss.
  • Use self help programs specifically designed to prevent memory loss or improve memory. 

Improve Memory 

Improve memory techniques can help if you’ve already lost memory function.  Here are some improve memory habits to get into:

 

  • Follow a normal routine.
  • Keep lists.
  • Keep a calendar of appointments, etc.
  • Put items you need like keys, wallet, pens, phone, etc. in the same place every time you use them.
  • When you meet people, repeat their names as you greet them.  This will help you hold onto the name.
  • If you have trouble remembering a name, run through the ABCs.  Recognizing the first letter of a name can help you remember it.
